Historical Background

  • Vanthali Memon Community is consisting of those people who were the residents of village “Vanthali” in the Indian state of “Junagadh” and its suburb before partition and after Independence migrated to Pakistan, and now their majority is living in Karachi.
  • After migration, the elders of the community were met for the sake of community’s unity, welfare and to resolve their social issues. By mutual consent and consensus, they formed an organization in 1952 in the name of Vanthali Memon Jamat. In October 1955 it was given a legal status through registration in Karachi. Now said association is known as “Vanthali Memon Association” (VMA) and actively engaged to service the community.
  • Presently, VMA is a well-known social welfare organization and serving the VMA Community since more than 6 decades. Its valuable services especially in the field of education, food, health, housing and other various welfare support programs are widely acknowledged and appreciated at entire community level. These all are because of sincerity, generosity and selfless efforts of our (late) elders.

Our Objective

  • ◉   To promote unity, love & brotherhood among the people of Vanthali community.
  • ◉   To provide financial support for education to all students (boys & girls) of the community.
  • ◉   To provide financial help and assistance to all the poor and needy people of the community without any discrimination.
  • ◉   To provide financial support to the poor and homeless people for their homes.
  • ◉   To discourage all un-Islamic customs and traditions, promote simplicity, including showing off and wastage of money in wedding ceremonies.
  • ◉   To solve the domestic disputes amicably.
  • ◉   To initiate scheme to remove unemployment and to provide possible help to the needy persons of the community.
  • ◉   To establish close contact with entire Memon community of Pakistan to be interested in, cooperate with, take part in and to help make successfully all the activities for betterment of the entire Memon Community.

A Unified Welfare Platform

Vanthali Memon Association (VMA) is a welfare organization based in Karachi, formed in 1952
to provide a unified platform for the Vanthali Memon community.

VMA focuses on education, food, health, housing and other support programs, uplifting under-privileged
and needy members of the community through organized and transparent welfare activities.

From Vanthali to Karachi

The Vanthali Memon Community originates from Vanthali in Junagadh, Gujarat, India.
After partition, families migrated to Pakistan and the majority settled in Karachi.

Elders formed “Vanthali Memon Jamat” in 1952. In October 1955, it was registered
as “Vanthali Memon Association (VMA)”.
